Lise Szymanski´s incredible work

Tusind tak for alt, kære Lise!

I feel so lucky to meet and work together for Red Cros with this
absolutely great person, artist and author:Lise Szymanski!
Just take a look at the wonderful work she have done:
here is her last book (out of 4 she published, for danish and german
market)she was so sweet to offer me as a very special present for my
birthday,as well as this sweet and romantik make up case, which can
be seen in the book and which I don´t dare to use it,so beautiful it is!
Everything she have done is 100% hand-made,no mashine was
involved(even if one can be tempted to believe is was, when seeing
the perfect cutand lines)´cause Lise is the lucky owner of 2
magic-hands,by all means!
Thanks Lise!

my good old shoes
mine favorit sko..var de. Men nu,er det slut!

this used to be one(two?) of my favorite shoes...
the unique ''custom-made''shoes I ever had.Well,honestly,if it
would have been 100% on my taste, would have actually been
boots with long heels:but I chose at least the material, size and
(more or less) the model. And they faithfully served me on my long
trips! But now, that´s it! Our long term love is over,as they refuse to
cooperate with my feet.I thought I will offer them to someone else...but
(daaamn!), I´m a nostalgic person,I just can´t ''let them go'':))and as they
are so nice, quiet and useless,probably.... I´ll frame them. What else?

New Year in Denmark
This was the (final version )New Year´s postcard I´ve made for the language school I attend.Below you can see also the start point drawing. It pass through many transformations in order to give the right feel and message(thanks once again to my friend and classmate,Monalisa, for her precious help!).I don´t exagerate if I say it was a really great and fun experience and a chance to learn, big time!
Like, just for example, the fact that an official greeting card, involve more formalities and nuances than I thought about before. But I agree with what Margot Hansen, institution´s headmaster annotate and this is the reason why,the girl from the original draw get a more neutral-androgine character as well as the original message:'' Merry Christmas'',wrote in many different languages inside the danish flag-like wrapped-heart,became ''Happy New Year''. We are there,a mega- mixture of nations,races,social-statute and religions(this international atmosphere is something I´ll really miss later). The New Year rather than Christmas is something more meaningful, neutral or better said''available'' for everybody regardless religion or culture. So this was:))
Happy New Year 2009!!
The very First Day of the year, come with 2 more ''clandestine presents''
hidden under the courtain!
Godt Nytår!

W from White and Winter

decoration style! All white lamps and candels, silver Herstal´s series
and''Karen Blixen´s Jul'' from Rosendahl,''troldpilen''-with its branches
defying any botanical rule or symmetry, all so popular here, just to
give some examples.Aparently I can´t get enough''white''-feel.That´s
why,everything I touched(with decorative intentions) ended up
looking like forgoted in Chlorine!Green and red were deported
this winter!Maybe I start to suffer a rare form of ''chromato-phobi''
or a ''color-allergy'':))))?Or is,maybe, just the lack of snow:)))
Wish you all the best for 2009,
may it be a year full of succeses!!

The Time

Illo for a winter story:
''The girl who ask for Time''
''-You pretend you know me?asked Time the litlle girl. You are too young to know what The TIME means!''
I wanted actually to use this illo for IFs ''pretend''.I must say I´m not sure I get right the meaning of being ''rambunctious'' as my dictionary present a less active image, in definition:))

as you can(almost not)see in the image above:)).For those of you who want to have a clear picture, this is the site:
(press ''vindere'')
To have my work elected by them, was more than touching for me,being a big fan of their institution,of the modern-nostalgic and all in all special atmosphere they created on their shops!
I don´t have big hopes, but with a little luck, maybe I´ll have the chance,at the end of this year,to see this watercolor printed on their shelfs:well,honestly...will be actually to beautiful to be true:))

High Hopes
IF´´Balloon``(sorry for coming with this old one,I didn´t had time for something new)
just some info i could get and post, like Jennifer suggested, for thouse of you, bighearted people who find and try to save baby birds fallen from the nest-when you can´t find a veterinary or
a specialized help in good time. Better to repeat also the things I found, talking with an old romanian doctor
From his experience:
1.if the nest is found and you put the bird back, supervise it in first24hour to see if the parents are not rejecting the baby
2.if you can´t find a specialized help,never feed the bird before you know which species it is:the diet can be different from one to another( fresh insects all can take):with less food-you have a hungry baby;with too much food-you can have a dead one;
3.the baby -bird should be placed in a warm place,as similar as possible with his nest:in a dark box or half covered one:most of them are photophobic and stressed in an open place,if they never left the nest.If they are big enough an open space is indicated so they can practice the fly.I´ve heared there are some special electric-warm boxes for kitten which can be used as well to keep the bird warm enough.
The food should be hashed in very little pieces or made a paste, the water or this paste can be gived by serynge. There are some birds who can not toleratte the seeds the thrush is well known for it.The same for blackbird, she can take though canary food.Big atention with the earthworm(angleleworm):this one can transfer a lethal parasit, better to get red worm or others worms( head off and paste made) which can be found on fisher shops. Never use ants .
Other things blackbirds, thrush, nightingale(and other from the same family ) can eat:
instant piure for babies(Milupa, for ex),boiled egg especially the yolk, cow cheese(but is a special one in Romania...not sure is the same caw cheese everywhere),little pieces of cow heart, fruits and vegetable a big list(f.ex:apple, chery, banana,
carrot, winegrapes without seeds etc.),cow meat made
almost like a paste. You can aplly this menu also to spparows, rocklet, raven, including seeds. Also if you give them bread, neved give fresh one.Feed them 3 times a day-not in the night, unless is a night-bird.Don´t bring too many people and activity around .The ''stress'' factor is also a deadly one for little wild birds.
appologies for my awfully english :(

exist also a birds book by Doris Quinten (I don´t know the title)where she give some info about how the wild baby birds
can be treated.

.....
I didn´t wanted to write this but I feel I owe you this information: is hard to say the little blackbird died yesterday after a short agony.I´m so devastated that I hardly can contain myself...That´s why was necessary to delete the pics i posted before, because I simply can´t see them, hope you´ll understand me..Thanks a lot,to all of you for your kind messages and advises:I don´t know what I´ve done wrong and I can´t help thinking is me the one who killed him,not the cat.I saved along the time so many sparrows,or crows in worse conditions, with borken wings, broken legs,or half paralised:a miracle they survive!
To save this little one, lets say ''in one piece'' without broken wings or legs, without any visible damages and next day have him gone,is something unbearable:I knew blackbirds are more sensible, that´s why I asked for help. They have a diferent diet-can´t take seeds f.ex,so when I found the info,I gave him as was said shredded carrot, boiled yolk of egg and strawbery(the last one he really like it a lot)and planned to find other things later. No people around, box with plastic sheeds covered with paper and cotton just to be sure is warm enough.I didn´t searched for the nest, because many times the parrents reject the baby if is touched by humans, but now,I think maybe I should have done it.In the evening something was not that good,he started to have a bad balance, but even in the morning at 6AM when I fed him ,was not that bad,he took the food, few hours later when I was back he was almost gone...Was imposible to find a vet,I was ringing at many offices:no answer or mashine answered.I ended up calling my mom in Bucharest for an advise, but was away to late.
To not repeat this sad experience again,I´m now in search for informations and see what can I do here,in Denmark, for this situations.I´m affraid here are not shelters for special help, like I saw(with admiration)there are in USA,or UK.
If someone else from DK is reading this lines, please, let me know what is the procedure here? Most of danish people are bighearted and animals lover,so for sure, must be somewhere at least a 24 hours vet service for emergency situations. For the moment everybody told me just about the usual appointments they have with vetenerian for their pets, but I launched the SOS,so maybe tomorow I´ll have more info.
Susan,Jennifer,Bella, need to tell you again thanks...
I can´t forgive myself for what was happening with this little one...
