I'd go with the top version. A great piece of work. Lovely textures, colour and handling of the mediums. It gives you the right warm and fuzzy feeling!

I wonder why you say that you are" not an illustrator yet"? You certainly have talent and would make a great picture book artist. I have been told that it is easier to get a publishing deal if you have a story to go with the pictures. Have you thought about this?

good idea acornmoon,actually this watercolor was illustrateing a romanian saying(?):''when you are in need you see who is your (real) friend''-hum,aproximate translation.To build a story to the illos(or the other way around)can bring a big plus...i agree!
